Miller, 86, of Rockford (Chattanooga), Ohio, died at 11:34 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  He was born November 29, 1925 in Blackcreek Township, Willshire, Ohio, to the late Carl F. and Gertrude (Brewster) Miller.  On December 3, 1950, he married Florence Schumm, who survives.</p>
<p>Also surviving is a daughter, Karen (Joe) Bennett of Celina, and a grandson, Jeffrey Bennett of Columbus, Ohio.  Two brothers survive:  Carl Laverne (Martha) Miller, of Monroe, Indiana and Kenneth (Dee) Miller, of Demotte, Indiana; three sisters survive:  Ruth Werner of Zelienople, Pennsylvania; Emilene Henkle of Rockford, Ohio; and Catherine (Paul) Eichler, also of Rockford.  Deceased are two sisters, Helen Linn and Anna Lou Kosier.</p>
<p>He graduated from Willshire High School and then served in the U.S. Army, in World War II,  and took part in the Battle of the Bulge.</p>
<p>Herbert retired as Captain of Security from the Lima State Hospital in 1983, after 23 years of service.  He also did electrical work and farmed.  He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Rockford, where he was very active.  He was a member of the Celina V.F.W., the Geneva American Legion, and also the Willshire American Legion.</p>
<p>Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. William Maki officiating. Burial to follow at the church cemetery.  Friends may call at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., and on Wednesday at the church, one hour prior to the service.  The VFW will have a service at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, and will have graveside military rites on Wednesday</p>
<p>Memorials can be directed to the Zion Lutheran Church and the American Lung Association.</p>

White, who preceded in death on July 24, 1990.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Willshire Union United Methodist Church, and lived in the area all her life.</p>
<p>Surviving are 3 sons:  David (Becky) White, Willshire, Ohio; Robert White, Decatur, Indiana; Ralph White, Willshire, Ohio; 2 daughters: Linda (Stephen) Ford, Celina, Ohio and Karen (Ronald) Heiser, Decatur, Indiana.  One brother, Rolland (Betty) Zimmerman survives in Celina, Ohio.  Twelve grandchildren , 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great- great grandchild also survive.</p>
<p>Deceased is one daughter, Shirley Roth and three brothers, Chester, Earl, and Homer Zimmerman.</p>
<p>Services will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford with Pastor Bud Larimore officiating.  Burial will be in Willshire Cemetery, Willshire, Ohio.  Friends may call on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, and on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service.  Memorials may be directed to the Willshire Union United Methodist Church.</p>

<p>Surviving are three sons:  Jerry (Barbara) Craft, Glasgow, Kentucky, Jimmy (Connie) Craft, Celina, Ohio, and Dale Craft, Indiana; two daughters:  Martha (Roger) Parelius, McHenry, Illinois, and Lois (David) Gause, Rockford, Ohio; one daughter-in-law, Kathy Craft, McHenry, Illinois; 17 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.  Deceased are two sons:  Billy and Terry Craft; four sisters:  Uldean Ferguson, Georgia Longfellow, Hazel Butler, and Dorothy Davis; three brothers:  Weldon, Edward, and Jesse Ferguson; one grandchild, and one great grandchild.</p>
<p>Services will be held on Monday, April 2, 2012, at Weldon Haddix Funeral Home, Albany Kentucky, with Rev. Bennett officiating at 1:00 p.m. (Kentucky Time) Burial will be in Piercey Cemetery, Albany.  Friends may call at Weldon Haddix Funeral Home on Sunday, after 5:00 p.m</p>

Teixeira, 76, of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Rockford, Ohio, died at 3:05.p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at the Tidewell Hospice Home in Port Charlotte.  She was born on March 12, 1936, the daughter of Clarence “Buck”  and Donna Francis ( Bennett )Trisel.  On June 3, 1978, she married Peter A. Teixeira, and he survives in Port Charlotte.  Pat was a homemaker and had also been a beautician in the Rockford area before moving to Florida in 1977.</p>
<p>Surviving in addition to her husband, Peter, are four children:  a daughter, Pam Kay Bowen, Mendon, Ohio and three sons:  Scott (Barb) Bowen, Rockford, Ohio; Bruce (Darla) Bowen, Kendallville, Indiana; and Todd David Bowen, Bradenton, Florida.  Also surviving are four grandchildren:  Lucas (Katie) Bowen, Corey Bowen, Kayla Bowen, and Brandon (Kelsey) Bowen; four great grandchildren, and one sister, Connie Trisel of Bradenton, Florida.</p>
<p>Graveside services for friends and family will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2012, at 12:00 noon at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford, Ohio, with Pastor Mark Rutledge officiating. There will be a private viewing for family members only.  Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.</p>

<p>Surviving are three sons: Jerry (Barb) Johnson, Lima, Charles Richard Johnson, Mendon, and Thomas Edward (Joyce) Johnson, Celina; two daughters: Diana Jane (Dana) Griggs, Chesterfield, Missouri, and Patricia Ann (Jon) Shindollar, Troy, Ohio; one brother: Leonard Peterson, Dana Point, California; nine grandchildren: James Michael, Cristin Ann, Jeremy, Christopher, and Phillip Johnson, Darrick, and Diandra Griggs, Lauren, and Garrett, Shindollar; and four great-grandchildren: Mallory Nicole Johnson, Scott Alan Orick, Riley Lynn Griggs, and Quinn Gregory Maguire.</p>
<p>She was a high school graduate of Hobart, Indiana. She was a member of the Mendon First Church of God, and was a Sunday School Teacher. She was a homemaker and an Assistant Librarian of the Mendon Library.</p>
<p>Funeral services will be Thursday March 15, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, with Rev. Dean Bruce officiating. Burial will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford. Viewing will be held Wednesday March 14 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Mendon First Church of God.</p>

<p>Surviving are two children:  Sharon (Tom) Menchofer of St. Marys, Ohio and Mick (Nancy) Shope of Rockford, Ohio.  Four grandchildren survive: Bruce (Kay) Menchofer, Dean (Jamie) Menchofer, Amanda (Aaron) Selking, and Samantha (Andrew) Scheumann; three step-grandchildren:  Lou (Jen) Daley, Joseph (Amy) Daley, Maria Daley; four great grandchildren:  Dylan Menchofer, Kortnee Hardin, Carissa Selking, and Caleb Selking; one step-great grandchild:  Toya Garin; one great-great grandchild:  Kaeden Clowner, and nine great-great step-grandchildren.  Three sisters-in-law survive:  Betty Shope, Lois Jean Springer, and Virginia Shope.  Deceased is a brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Fern Alt.</p>
<p>Services will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, Ohio, with Pastor Steve Waterman officiating.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.  Friends may call at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, and on Thursday, one hour prior to the service.  Memorials may be directed to the Olive Branch Church of God, Ohio City, Ohio.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Donald Eugene “Gene” Barna, 82 of Rockford, Ohio, died at 2:45 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford, where he was a patient.  He was born on March 12, 1929, the son of Sylvester and Julia (Kaschak) Barna.  On September 12, 1959, he married Sue Harmon, who survives in Rockford.</p>
<p>Gene was owner and manager of Barna’s Café in Rockford for many years.  He had lived in Rockford since 1952, coming from Indiana.  He and his wife, Sue, were co-owners of the Town &amp; Country Nursing Home in Huntington, Indiana.  He also owned and operated a poultry house on Tama Rd, outside of Rockford for many years, and he retired from Huffy’s in Celina.</p>
<p>He served in the U.S. Navy and Marines during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the Rockford American Legion Post #508, the Celina VFW Post, and a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Rockford.  Gene was an avid hunter, fisherman, and trapper all of his life.</p>
<p>Surviving in addition to his wife, Sue, are three children:  Gino (Nancy) Barna of Port Clinton, Ohio; Mark (Mary) Barna of Ohio City, Ohio; and Lisa Perry of Rockford, Ohio.  Also surviving is one brother, Bill (Madelyn) Barna of Louisville, Kentucky and a sister, Betty Belna of Rockford.  Four grandchildren survive:  Melanie, Courtney, and Madisen Barna and Rachel Perry; three step-grandchildren: Bart Barna, Bill Perry, and Ben Ayers, along with five step-great grandchildren.  Deceased are three brothers, Ron, Dick, and Bob Barna.</p>
<p>Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012, at 10:30 a.m.at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford with Rev.James Seibert officiating.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00-8:00 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Monday.  Military honors will be conducted  at the grave site by the Rockford American Legion Post #508..</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-493" title="scan-Sullivan0001" src="http://ketchamripley.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/scan-Sullivan0001.jpg" alt="" width="150" height="200" />Don Edward Sullivan, 84, of St. Marys, Ohio, passed away at 3:08 a.m. on Monday, February 20, 2012, at Otterbein Retirement Home, St. Marys, Ohio.  He was born in Cass County, Indiana, to Ralph and Margaret (Sharts) Sullivan, on November 18, 1927.  On July 3, 1947, he married Marian Alice VanHoesen, and she survives in St. Marys.</p>
<p>Mr. Sullivan was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and was a farmer.  He moved to St. Marys in 2006 from Indiana.  He attended Otterbein Community Church, St. Marys, Ohio.</p>
<p>Surviving in addition to his wife Marian are five children:  one son, Merle (Frieda) Sullivan of Fulton, Indiana, and four daughters: Alice Lynch, Logansport, Indiana; Carolyn (Michael) Colvin, Flora, Indiana; Donna (Eugene) Field, Peru, Indiana; and Carla (Kenneth) Pond, Rockford, Ohio.  Ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild also survive.</p>
<p>There will be no visitation or services.  Memorials may be directed to Otterbein Benevolence Fund, 11230 St. Rte.364, St. Marys, Ohio, 45885.  Arrangements are being handled by Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, Ohio.</p>

Shock, 92, of Rockford, Ohio, died Saturday evening, February 19, 2012,  at 7:12 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  She was born on December 10, 1919, near Pennville, Indiana in Jay County, the daughter of Walter C. and Virgie (Champ) Wright.  On December 29, 1945, she married Max C. Shock, who preceded in death on October 15, 2009.  Dorothy was a homemaker and lived most of her life in Rockford.  She was a member of the Rockford United Methodist Church and the church’s Women’s Association.</p>
<p>Surviving is one brother, Royce (Mary Ellen) Wright, of Portland, Indiana and one sister, Velma Hunt, of Caro, Michigan.  One brother-in-law Gerald (Sondra) Dickson, of Portland, Indiana also survives, along with nieces and nephews.  Deceased are two sisters:  Maxine Kessler and Carolyn Sue Dickson.</p>
<p>Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford with Pastor Chip Steffy officiating.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., and on Friday, one hour prior to the service.  Memorials may be directed to the church.</p>
